A holiday created by corporations to milk money from people looking to keep their SO happy because of some preconceived notion that its deserved on this one day for no real reason is of no concern to me.
I go to the stores a few days after the holiday to buy the preasents if I do or I make my own since those express your feelings.

I like all the chocolate.
Eh, the chocolate is better the day after when its like 75% off. But once again, what purpose does chocolate for this day in particular serve? None whatsoever. Its just a marketing gimmick to make people think that if they don't buy something for their SO then they're a bad person.
In a lot of cultures chocolate is considered and aphrodisiac so giving chocolate to your loved one may make them want to get it on.
