This must be the year of fulfilled promises. First Haruhi make a comeback after the fans having been teased with it for nearly two years now, and then, this.
The original pilot episode was released in June of 2007, but the project had supposedly been canned due to the sharp economic downturn. Now, after over two years, the first episode of the sequel to Kiddy Grade, apparently named Kiddy Girl-and, has been released as of 10/15/09 24:40 JST (just over 13 hours ago, don't ask about the 24, just know that its after midnight) and has hit the internet as of 11:50 UTC (about 5 hours ago) with subs.
So, anyone else going to be picking this up? I know I'm stoked after getting excited two years ago only to have it cancelled.
Okay, so I just watched the first episode. Its very confusing, similar to the first few episodes of Kiddy Grade. I'll be following this one for certain.

I may watch it, since I enjoyed the first series. It will be interesting to see how they continue the series.
I'll need to watch the full series of Kiddy Grade before I even consider any sequals.
Well, they're finally starting to get into the plot of the series. I have a few theories on what may be going on.
With Trixie and Troisienne dead, if you pay attention in the scene showing their graves, it refers to them as "Trixie III Eclair" and "Troisienne III Lumiere" and both tombstones were labeled with "Our third hope girl." Based on this and the use of Trixie and Tron's powers by Ascoeur and Q-feuille I have a theory.
I think that perhaps Eclair and Lumiere are not dead, but are very close to dead from the events in the very first opening of the series. They reside in some sort of hyperstasis somewhere and since they are incapacitated the GTO is attempting to create clones of them because they can't survive without the G-Class ES members protecting their headquarters. Trixie and Tron were the third clones, Ascoeur and Q-feuille are the fourth.
It could also be that they are dead and this is an attempt to continue their legacy, but I don't see how they could die with Eclipse's technique unless Eclipse died at the same time, which would tie in with another theory that I have that Dia is a clone of Eclipse.
Either way, this theory also explains why they are being trained as ES members in the first place, and why Q-feuille is only 7 years old but is physically and mentally much older. To take it another step, it could also explain why Dia and Q-feuille are the same age, but that one is a stretch since we don't know how old Ascoeur is.
Granted, this is all speculation but its my guess right now.

Well, I'm not 100% sure about...
but wow, I called that one.
Episode 12 shows Eclair and Lumiere frozen in space from the events in the very beginning of the episode.
